Show output of metals from mines in california for 1925 the value of gold silver copper lealand lea dand zinc produced in california in 1925 according to the estimate of J T M hill of the bureau of mines was a decrease lof of as compared with the value of metals produced in 1924 there was a decrease in production of gold silver and copper but considerable increases in the output of lead and zinc as compared with the previous year the production of gold in 1925 was a decrease of as compared with 1924 which is a very good showing considering the decrease in yield of several of the larger gold quartz mines and from copper ores that the decrease was not lar larger larer er can be attributed to the increased yield of dredges though thong h there were fewer b oats boats in operation in 1925 than in 1924 the production of silver in 1925 was fine ounces less than the previous year but totaled ou ounces fice s valued at the decrease is largely due to the fact that the california rand silver inc was short of mill water during the summer and was not able to produce at capacity the decreased yield of silver from copper ores was offset by the increased yield from lead ores produced in the southern part of the state the prod production action of copper in 1925 was 0 pounds valued at a decrease of pounds and of bf in value as compared with 1924 the decrease was largely the result of the closing of operations at the mines of the united states smelting smelling Sm elting refining and mining corn com pany at kennett in n the late summer the engels andwan and walker mines mines were p
