Show POPE SHENON LEASED FOR A YEAR william Tilliam VA M and george A snow the well known min ingmen of salmon idaho have secured a lease on the pope shenon mines for a term of one year this lease has been negotiated through the agency of M L emigh of this city who has worked directly through the directors of the company in salt lake city and though the lease was made out to mr emigh it if was immediately conveyed to snow brothers who had come down from their property near clayton to assume the lease says the salmon idaho herald of recent date has already taken charge on oil telegraphic orders from the company mr emigh went to the mines situated six miles south of salmon to take charge of everything and to take an inventory of stuff on oil hand the property has been worked for three or four months by A boulais one of the stockholders under a temporary lease terms of which have expired snow brothers the salmon herald says intend to convert the pope shenon mill into a concentrator and to work the property very aggressively ex exposing p osing new ore re serves serve sand and extracting heavily for shipment there is an immense amount of good ore in the mine and sufficient development to permit of the employment of a considerable working force some improvement is contemplated on the road to the mines but it will not be long till many teams and trucks will be engaged in hauling ore to the salmon freight yard george snow now residing at clayton says say lie he will move his family to salmon and he will devote his entire time to the direction of pope shenon operations one of the best in idaho stewart campbell state mine inspector on his visit to salmon last week looked through the pope shenon and upon returning to town spoke his surprise at the character and extent of the ore bodies saying that the pope shenon is is one of the best copper properties in idaho lying idle today |
