Show washington the washington state metal mines association reelected elected re the following officers at the annual meeting held rec recently antly at spokane L K X armstrong president E H knight vice president M E poole secre tary treasurer the following together with the officers constitute the board of trustees H S M J sweeny dan bagnell J L drumheller and J C haas these were all former members of the board except J C haas stockholders of the mining and smelting smelling Sm elting company met at the offices of the company peyton building spokane and elected the following directors for the com ing year C B krom arom joe F krom A L peterson J W redfern and W Y sanborn officers elected by the board of directors are C 13 krom president and treasurer joe F P krom vice president and manager and W Y sanborn secretary the com banys properties are in the sultan district in snohomish county some development has been done on the claims and it is planned to do about worth of work this year since the chief difficulty which has faced development of the properties thus far transportation probably will be met G B dennis of spokane founder and for many years president of the northwest mining alining 6 association was given the first honorary presidency and life membership in a resolution passed at their meeting recently the resolution states that the life honorary presidency is tendered in recognition of the devoted services of mr air dennis and further resolves that an address be pre pared and a life sized picture of mr air dennis be secured and presented to him at the opening of the mining convention in spokane february 28 two carloads of ore have been shipped recently from the old dominion mine in the colville district the mine is operated by the dominion silver lead mining company of which W H linney of spokane is president and manager charles P lund and R R rogers also of spokane are vice president and secretary respectively and IV W lon johnson of colville treasurer in the early days before there was a town at colville the old dominion made a fortune for the men that owned it ore was hauled into spokane in wagons for a number of years the property was idle on account of litigation which was cleared up last year the ore according to reports is high grade silver carrying some lead values |
