Show great future predl predicted acted for eureka nevada mines mi nes A G burritt consulting engineer and mining geologist has returned from an extended stay in the eureka nev mining district after making an examination of numerous properties but paying particular attention to the developments at the property of the eureka nevada mining companas Comp anys ground mr burritt brings back impressions that make him enthusiastic as to the future prospects for the camp in general and the eureka nevada mine in particular speaking generally of the district he said that it had an official record of having produced a little more than in gold silver and lead prior prior to the close of the year 1918 and that he was confident that not one fourth of the ore in the district has been extracted or even developed with all of its big output the mines have never reached the sulphide zone said mr burritt and I 1 am reasonably certain that this when developed will prove richer than any of the deposits nearer the surface has some famous mines mr air burritt said that the eureka nevada was on the same great ore zone as were the ruby hill the hamburg the windfall and the geddes bertrand all of which have records of several millions each in production the holley halley the eureka croesus and the uncle sam barn are also among the steady and regular producers of the district the eureka nevada said mr burritt is developing its ground of which it holds approximately acres through a lower tunnel that was in a total distance of feet when I 1 left camp a few days ago this tunnel which is an extremely good piece of work is just entering the ore zone in which the ore was found in the upper tunnel level some feet above the dip of the upper ore deposits is such that they come in yest west of the lower tunnel and it will be necessary to drift a short distance to reach them also some of the ore shoots to the right of the tunnel will have to be developed through drifts other shoots will be caught in the lime some sixty feet ahead of the present face nearing gearing big bodies one drift has been started at the right of the tunnel and this should be in ore within the next twenty five or thirty feet the drift on the west to intersect the ore are that outcrops on the surface twenty four feet west from the line of the tunnel should reach the ore within another thirty feet mr burritt explained that the general trend of the ore was toward the secret canyon shale which is the contact of the hamburg limestone that contains the ore this shale stands nearly vertical and the ore will turn down approximately parallel with the dip of the shale the next thirty days said the engineer should see the miners in ore in several places on the lower level of the workings he believes that the ore which the tunnel is now entering will extend on to the california fissure and from there on to the end of the companas comp anys claims a distance of some 1800 feet inasmuch as this formation has whenever opened in the past never failed to disclose immense bodies of commercial ore the company will continue to push its development work at the lower levels the company recently added to its holdings by purchase the pack saddle and pack saddle fraction claims and mr burritt finds that the ore zone in which the eureka ne vada is now working extends through the entire length of both of these claims he located a tunnel site on the east side of the canyon for the opening of the ore bodies on an this end of the property and advises that it this tunnel be started without delay after two years of steady development said mr burritt the mine is now in such physical condition as to return quickly to its owners a generous share of the moneys invested I 1 would not attempt to estimate tonnage but there is enough of ore that averages from 60 to 90 per ton to keep a big force of miners busy for several years at least |
