Show THE SILVER BELL ALPHA CONS president lorin hall and secretary clinton D ray of the silver bell alpha consolidated soli dated mines company which is planning the construction of a milling plant at the property at rye patch nevada have issued a statement to stockholders relative to conditions at the mine the company is incorporated for shares of which remain in the treasury A block of shares i is being sold to finance the mill project recent assays essays taken from both the dump and vein matter have given returns of 13 ounces up to ounces silver and from 40 cents to in gold to the ton the following is taken from the statement over forty years ago the silver bell and alpha were two of the noted silver gold mines of nevada it is estimated that they produced upwards of of high grade silver ore a vast amount of which was hauled for miles over the sierra nevada mountains by team and shipped from san sall francisco to swansea wales for treatment it is quite evident that any ore of moderate value could not be handled profitably in those days therefore it will be readily understood that there are immense quantities of low grade ore left on the dumps and in the mine extensive sampling and assaying have shown much of this ore to contain commercial values in silver and gold in fact it is estimated that at least tons of ore running from 5 to 30 ounces of silver are available on the dumps in the old pillars and fills in the mine A shaft has been sunk directly through the old work workings 1 and is connected up by drifts and chutes with all the available ore in the old workings the bottom of this shaft furthermore has been reached by a tunnel about 1000 feet in length through which all of tile the ores above referred to may be conveyed directly into a mill where the same can be treated including cost of mining and transportation at a cost not to exceed 2 a ton it will be easily seen therefore that on a basis of ten ounces of silver per ton for tons of ore deducting the costs as estimated with silver at 70 cents an ounce there would be a net profit of in the ores already available for milling |
