Show 0 WILLIAM M MEAGER william al meager a member of the old school of mining men of the west and well known throughout utah and nevada died at battle mountain in the latter state on the ath dinst mr hedgers Me Med agers gers illness had extended back over several months time and his intimate friends have known since last summer that there was little chance for his recovery but the news of his death came as a shock to relatives and friends regardless of that fact he was born in st blazey england and was fifty seven years of age at the time of his death he came to america when a boy and has been engaged in mining in the west since 1876 he first located in galena near battle mountain in that year and at the time of his death still retained important holdings there and in copper canyon prominent among them being the meager group comprising both lode and placer ground he is survived by two sisters mrs F W hall of rexburg Rex burg idaho and mrs lilly T kauffman of rico colorado and ana one brother john meager living at silverton colorado funeral services were held at battle mountain mr meager had many warm personal friends throughout the west and the mining review extends sympathy to them and to the relatives of deceased |
