Show THE UNION MINES CO free press elko nev W P fairman president of the union mines company accompanied by his wife were in elko recently and left for san sall fray fran 1 cisco where they will v visit is i it the exposition returning to philadelphia by the northern route the union mines company is peculiar in its organization as a mining company it le ie composed of 18 leading men of philadelphia nine of whom are on the board of directors the company is a close corporation all stocks being owned by the eighteen members there are shares of common stock issued and preferred the property situated at union eureka county aid bought outright about two years ago ai and d senator thatcher was placed in charge he has developed the property into a paying in proposition and the mine is now shipping a carload of ore daily which pays a good profit enough ore of shipping quality has been blocked out to keep the ore teams busy for more than a year the returns being used to further develop the property with the intention of installing a mill later on president fairman in an interview said 1 I am highly pleased with th the condition of the property and believe we have one of the big paying mines of the state we have decided on a plan of operation and will not put in the mill at present as we intended doing early in the winter believing that it is best to further develop the property at greater depth if the ere cre bodies continue as the indications lead us to believe we will build a mill with a capacity much larger than our plans call for we have a large tonnage of good shipping ore blocked out which will be sent to the amel at salt lake city the returns being sufficient to pay for the development of the property t |
