numbers a total value of during the same period tons of ore were mined the figures show an increase of tons in ore production and of in bullion shipments above the record for j march honors are about evenly divided between the tom reed and gold road mines inso in so far as the increase in tonnage is concerned i the increase in bullion shipments however was for the most part from the tom read and represented in great measure the gold r extracted from the shoot of high grade milling ore opened during april in the west drift from the bottom of the foot on the foot fiot level kingman and needles has purchased a 25 horsepower hoist for the oatman mining milling company and within a short time it will be delivered at the mined mine for several weeks a force of men was employed in building a roadway to the shaft and in leveling i a site for the buildings that are to house athe machinery and the miners the work of erecting the buildings is now underway and will be followed by shaft shaf t sinking to jo a depth of feet and the proving of the entire vein system at that level the showing on the property at nominal depth is most encouraging it is the opinion of mr hilty who by the way was one of the original locators of the celebrated tom reed mine that he has in the present venture another bonanza in embryo development of united eastern the already urgent need of the united eastern company for milling facilities will soon sogn be intensified by the crosscutting at a depth of feet of the vein opened on the and foot levels james jack mclver mciver who with george long developed the eastern into a mine states that the objective will be reached within a few days mclver mciver will be remembered by many colorado and montana miners as a former rec ord holder in double handed drilling george long is now in los angeles where he is consulting with frank keith and seeley mudd who with himself and mclver mciver control united eastern affairs and it is understood the outcome will be the drawing of plans for the erection of a mill on the companas comp anys estate water rights ample for milling purposes have already been acquired by the management within two weeks the plant of machinery ordered for tile the united western company will be delivered at the shaft supercede supersede cede the 6 horsepower where it will super the golconda hoist erected in an emergency from
