Show NEW ORE BODY AT TUOLUMNE A recent despatch from butte montana regard regarding ling new developments at the tu copper mining companas Comp anys property at that place edward hickey president and general manager follows in crosscutting on the 2600 foot level of the tu a strike of fine commercial ore has been made about feet to the east of the station and already they have drifted more than 50 feet in ore with no sign of a break or the lessening of the grade of it there is between four and a half and civo feet 0 oft this ore which is said to average between 8 and 10 per cent copper and to toe be as good a grade for the apparent size of the ore body as has been encountered in the mine we cannot tell the extent of this body of ore said president hickey in speaking of it but there is every reason for us to feel very good over it and I 1 believe it will hold out and prove to toe be as satisfactory fac try as was predicted by the mining engineers who made the farsi examination although the tuolumne has not been in operation for a mouth month yet since operations were begun there again good progress is be being ng made at present about two cars of ore a day are being taken out making the total output average tons of ore per day S this ore is being taken largely from the 2000 and 2600 foot levels with some from the and some from 1400 foot levels the intention is to double the present output as soon as the mine is put into first class shape there is considerable cleaning up to do among those conversant wim the ore body being opened on the 2600 foot level it is stated that it is by far the best ore the tuolumne has ever shown sinking to the 2800 foot level which was recommended by the engineers will not be begun for some time yet the company Is conserving its resources and it is the desire to pay back the in money oney advanced to enable it to resume operations before any expenditures for sinking are made it looks now as if there would be no need to draw on this reserve fund to any great extent as tiie the profits from the ore now being shipped is sufficient to meet all running expenses and also add to the surplus |
