Show LEAD AND ZINC IN OKLAHOMA the final figures showing the prodoc brodu tion of lead and zinc in oklahoma in 1 1912 prepared by J P dunlop of tse ae united states ge logical survey shown show a mine production of lead and zinc val tied at compared with in 1 I 1911 I 1 the quantity of lead concentrates sold in 1912 was tons valued at of which all but one ton came from the th miami district the quantity of zinc carbonate and silicate sold was only 93 92 tons valued at 2550 most of this concentrate cen came from the peoria district where little mining was done in 1912 the shipments of concentrates in 1912 amounted to tons valued at of this output tons came from the arbuckle mountain region murray county in southern oklahoma 1621 tons from the quapaw district and tons from the miami district many mines in the quapaw district made no sales of concentrates and the shipments of galena concentrates declined tons and those of more than tons the miami camp was very active extensive drilling operations were conducted and several new concentrating plants were built at many of the older mines shafts were sunk to a lower run of ore and in consequence a smaller quantity of concentrates than usual was produced nut but the developments were satisfactory and will probably result in a large production the new properties in the northern portion of the camp made a large yield after the plants were started in 1912 the miami al district strict shipped 1408 tons of galena concentrates and 1867 tons of concentrates more than in 1911 and the value of the recoverable metallic content increased |
