Show UTAH COPPER ANNUAL D C jackling general manager of utah copper in his annual report of operations for the year 1912 says at the end of the year 1911 the total ore bearing area fully and partially developed was acres of which acres were in the original utah group acres in the original boston group and acres in the original payroll group during the year 1912 this area was increased to acres and the average thickness of developed and partially developed ore increased from feet to feet revised calculations taking into account the result of the years work shows that previous to january 1 1913 there has been developed in the property tons of ore of which quantity tons are classed as fully developed and tons as partially so this tonnage includes about tons of partially developed ore in the slopes of the steam shovel workings the average assay of the fully developed ore is slightly in excess of percent per cent copper and the average assay of the partially developed ore is per cent copper making the average assay of the total of both classes of ore per cent the years addition to the reserve was tons in excess of the tonnage mined beside the tonnage reported it is probable that additional ore of low grade will be developed along the boundary of the ore area of acres hereinbefore described there is also a good mining assurance of developing a considerable additional tonnage of average grade ore at depth underneath the above mentioned area the average cost of steam shovel mining for the year was cents per ton of which cents represents charges on account of expense and prospecting leaving an actual working cost including all extraordinary and general charges except development and stripping expenses of 2635 cents per ton as compared with 2461 cents for the year 1911 1 |
