Show TWO BRITISH COLUMBIA MINES which are to be equipped with tramway Tram ways and reduction works special correspondence spokane wash august 10 the public interest centered in the development of tho the standard and the rambler caribou mines in the slocan 13 C district will be greatly accentuated within the next sixty days when according to H W J jackson a mining expert of spokane the two properties will be placed upon a dividend paying basis the net earnings of the two mines which are controlled by spokane operators and associates is estimated at a month work is being rushed to equip the standard with tramway compressor and concentrator cen and it is announced that the mine should be in position to ship fully tons of ore daily the early part of september half of the product will be clean ore going directly to the smelter and the rest of lower grade ore is to be treated in the new mill the tramway will have a capacity of twenty tons an hour or tons in a ten hour shift the mill will treat from to tons a day the ore and concentrates cen are said to yield a net profit of 60 a ton and on that basis it is estimated the earnings will be about n q month the latest news from the standard is that the ore body has been encountered in the no 6 tunnel level which is feet below the no 5 level where the most extensive work has been done in the big ore shoot the point where the ore was encountered was so far from where the beginning of the ore shoot was expected to be found that it was not at first thought to belong to that body while this has not been demonstrated recent developments make it appear so at any rate the work during the next few weeks will settle this point if it is a part of the main ore shoot then that body undoubtedly is much longer on the no 6 level than it was on either of the higher levels the ore shoot recently broken into on the 1200 foot level of the rambler caribou has widened from two feet of clean ore to the full width of the dritt this is the second of the three lenses which have been well developed on the foot level where opened on the 1050 foot level the same lens had a width of only one foot which gradually widened to a maximum of six and a half feet ore from the rambler caribou mine shows a higher grade in silver than the standard ore ranging from to ounces to the ton the lead value of both mines is between 50 and CO 60 per cent the rambler caribou mine also will be equipped as quickly as possible with a tramway and concentrator the tramway is to have a capacity of tons a day and the mill will treat not less than tons in the twenty four hours production from the mine will be near that of the standard while its higher silver value will make inake the tonnage profit larger it is entirely likely that the net earnings of the rambler will be close to a month as soon as the equipment of the property is completed and the ore shoots are opened on the 1400 foot level where development work now is mainly concentrated the culver mining ning company working the amy and matchless groups on pine creek near wallace idaho has ordered a hoist and pump preparatory to si sinking liking on the ort drifting on the main lead of the amy will be continued but eventually will ivill run a north crosscut to connect with the matchless atchless I the company recently took the property under bond and has equipped it for active development work |
