Show STRIKE IN THE SILVER CABLE miner wallace idaho confirmation of a very rich strike on the property of the silver cable mining company compan has been received in wallace from men who have visited the property and are in a position to know rumors of a strike on this property have been current for some time and were denied by some of the stockholders while others insisted that a strike had been made and that only conservative reports of it had as yet reached the city james aames D young manager of the silver cliff property located near lookout was in wallace this week and stated that he had thoroughly examined the silver cable property and found that a solid vein of ore six feet wide had been encountered on which the miners had drifted 40 feet and which 1 ia reported to be steadily widening according to mr young the ore is said to be of the gray copper variety and carries ounces of silver and runs high in lead the development of this property consists of two tunnels and the recent strike was made in the upper tunnel at a depth of about feet some time last year work was discontinued in the tunnel on account of trouble with water and a new tunnel was started this season the upper tunnel was drained to some extent and work was resumed there and after driving a short distance the present ore body was encountered the company will at once resume work on the lower tunnel which it is estimated will have to be driven about feet to encounter the ore disclosed in the upper workings the property of the silver cable is located near the state line a short distance east of mullan the strike is attracting more than ordinary attention here and considerable sid erable of the stock has eh changed hands |
