Show MONTANA libby herald N D murray has completed his first contract of feet on the new tunnel of the victore victor E empire intire and has taken a second contract of feet I he lb was down tuesday after supplies and on other business connected with his wa work rk he is running run ning three shifts libby herald the shift at the snowshoe mine last friday morning broke into three feet of solid galena on the foot level from the bottom of the shaft a crosscut was run twenty eight feet when the vein was encountered the vein has since been cut across eight feet without reaching the other wall A chunk of the ore was brought down friday and it is probably the richest ore ever taken out of the hill the strike at this depth proves the snowshoe ore body a strong and lasting one and as development work has proceeded on this property the indications become stronger that it is one of the big lead and silver mines of the country butte intermountain the little old quartz mining district of silver star one o ne of the oldest in the treasure state is still on the map and the lodes of the early are still giving forth the earths treasures according to C L dahler who was associated with the late mr largey more than thirty years ago in that district and who is a business visitor to the city the old broadway now known as the bowery says mr dahler which was owned by mr largey and me as far back as 1874 is yet producing the cronrod Ir onrod famous as early as 67 is being worked and the carriel camel is a good property the ore is sent for the most part to the washoe smelter for treatment two new discoveries have been made in the past year and the government reports give the figures fi agures gures for the production in the silver star camp for 1911 as not a bad showing for a small village of between 75 and souls all told |
