Show A NEW ORE FEEDER bulletin searchlight nev charles hamil millman at the searchlight M M has installed one of his patent feeders at the searchlight mill the apparatus is doing excellent work and the management as well as mr hamill the inventor is highly pleased with its performance the machine consists of a hopper about eighteen inches wide and three feet long the bottom of which is a broad belt the full size of the hopper this belt is mounted on rollers the ore comes down from a shute onto this belt which moves slowly forward feeding the ore to the stamps just as needed the belt is carried forward by a wheel which is moved by a trip actuated by one of the stamps much the same way as the older type of feeder is operated with the difference that the new machine is capable of a much finer adjustment the apparatus at the searchlight is being operated alongside a feeder of the older type and mr hamill is highly pleased to show visitors the new machine in operation and to point out its points of superiority over the old |
