Show MON dispatch from helena says J J goodman who has been working a mining claim in white horse gulch eight miles south of winston has shipped a carload of ore consisting or thiry tons to the east helena smelter the property from which the ore was taken is called the cynosure and is developed by a tunnel feet long and an upraise 80 feet to the surface from the tunnel level the lead is in a granite formation and averages about two feet in width with a pay streak siv inches wide the ore is gold bearing with some silver values and in the face of the tunnel a small quantity of lead is coming into the vein A dispatch from elliston says while there has not been much said tive to the advancement being made by the elliston copper mining company this company has been steadily at work on the property eleven miles northwest of elliston and has been very much gratified at the showing made from time to time more especially especial so with the strike made in the past ten days which has brought to light a vein of ore sixty five to seventy in width this ore runs from five to seventy per cent in copper also carrying values in gold and silver to the extent of an average of 10 to the ton owing to the low price of copper the company is not shipping any ore it has several carloads of high grade copper ore in the and thousands of tons of low grade ore on the dump and in J J delaney who became interested in this property last winter through the efforts of J E shattuck of elliston came from denver last week bringing with him a mining engineer the conditions were such that mr delaney purchased outright shares from individual stockholders this is in addition to what he already held he left on the far his home in denver where he will confer with associates relative to the building of a railroad to the mine |
