Show REPORT OF TINTIC CENTRAL I 1 the gintic tintic central mining company of tintic gintic district utah A N holdaway manager has submitted the following report to its stockholders during the year 1910 we have sunk the shaft feet and have been bothered with water nearly the whole distance most of the distance we were greatly annoyed by missed shots caused by water and the springy condition of the ground making the work very slow and ex pensive expensive the shaft is now 1036 feet deep during the year we have run out two drifts to carry water away from the shaft into the fissured zone eastward the first drift was driven out thirty five and the next one feet to the northeast since the first of january we have driven this drift feet farther due east cutting at right angles the fissured zone this zone has proved to be feet across and we e have not yet found the east wall this mammoth vein is filled with decomposed lime mud talc quartz iron manganese faint copper stains and calcite much of the material assays essays from foni a trace to 11 per cent lead a trace to 13 per cent copper a trace to three ounces silver and all carries gold from a trace to this drift is one the foot level and demonstrates on one of the largest fissures in tin tic the strike of which is nearly due north and south and into which the rising mountain has dumped its surface water for untold ages causing much leaching and low values we will send out another drift at the 1025 foot level and cut the fissure again immediately under these large deposits of leached beached decomposed ore during the year we have installed two burley drills which are driven by air pur chaess from the knights power company partitioned off and sealed one half of the shaf to keep the men on top warm driven feet to drifts and put in fourteen sets of timbers in same and timbe timbered the three compartment shaft as usual to tho the 1000 toot level we have in process of patent the fourteen westerly claims out of twenty with no conflict now in sight the dirst at the 1025 foot level will be dry we should cut gray ore on this lower drift the treasurers treasur ers report shows cash balance january 1 1910 receipts treasury stock sold during the year shares assessments nos 2 3 4 and 5 of vz 12 cent each loan total disbursements payroll salaries machinery timbers and sundry expense on account surveying and advertising ver for patent contract contract work on shaft shaf t and drifts total cash balance january 1911 |
