Show WALTER D A few weeks ago we saw walter 1 in the pride of his youth and strength overflowing with the love of life with love and good will for his fellow man evidently he but stood on the threshold of a long and successful career the sweets of which he had already begun to taste none who conversed with him could dream that in the brief period of a few days his voice would be silenced forever in this existence that his loved presence would be blotted from our sight or that his relatives and friends would be overwhelmed with grief because of his going ever to the great majority walter was richly endowed physically mentally and morally splendidly educated refined and accomplished but best of all he possessed characteristics of heart and mind which won his way into the hearts of all for his was a charming personality he was graduated at west point at the age of twenty four under the roosevelt administration he was appointed consul to berlin germany later on be was united states consul at the city of mexico resigning from this position lie he came to salt lake the place of his birth for the purpose of accepting the management of the eudora bell mining company operating in american fork canyon on the ath of the month he was at the mine on his way to the valley he made a portion of the journey on on account of the deep snow the violent exercise caused intestinal trouble from which he died a week later the heartfelt sympathy of a host of friends goes out to the bereaved family and relatives of the dear one who has gone before words seem feeble in this hour of dire distress time may heal the wounds however but the memories the love for the departed one will last forever |
