Show THINGS DOING AT OHANA blackhorse property developed into mine class stamp mill is being planned the ohana mining company operating in the blac blackhorse district of white pine county nevada believes that it has one of the best propositions in the country this belief has not been formed in a day or in many days but has required much time and a great deal of development and exploratory work to make the belief a conviction the property has been developed extensively by shafts tunnels and open cuts A reputable engineer estimates the probable ore in sight at and bases his estimate after this plan he has measured all of the veins as opened by the numerous workings and assumed that the ore extends to a maximum depth of feet to which point it has been opened taking this tonnage and an average value of 12 a ton the lowest assay obtained he arrives at the above conclusion the property covers a lime porphyry contact and the veins appear to be true fissures which makes a depth 0 of f feet seem of comparatively little importance then again the ohana is productive of some very high grade rock and the average ore will undoubtedly go higher than 12 per ton in one shaft the ore has widened from six feet at the surface to seven feet at the foot mark and averages over 12 in gold silver and lead another shaft seventy feet in depth discloses four and one half feet of still better rock while in a forty foot shaft is eight feet of pay ore in an old working in the mine was taken from a space ten by fifteen feet and quartz running as high as 1600 in gold has been taken out showing that the values are sometimes concentrated in great shape manager A G burritt has recently completed a deal whereby the company has added the woodman group of four claims together 1 with water rights and to the company holdings it is mir air Bur ritts intention to run a 1200 foot tunnel which will tap at least four of the veins at good depth and provide for the economical handling of the ore to the mill A splendid is available near the mouth of the proposed tunnel and it is expected to have the plant in operation before the summer is over the first vein will be en encountered countered within feet and the management is confident that drifting on this will supply enough ore for a ten stamp mill As the property is opened up the mill will lie be increased in capacity mr burritt deserves to be rewarded liberally e from the ohana as lie he has worked faithfully to get it in its present shape when the present plans are all carried out it seems reasonable to ex expect hect that the venture will pay handsomely on the time and labor expended |
