Show in A adjoining states safford guardian the mascot mining company which is operating a group of claims in the graham mountains about thirty five miles southwest of safford is making regular shipments of ore and concentrates cen to the el paso smelter the ore ora is high grade assaying 60 to the ton the ore running 20 to the ton is concentrated at the plant of the company at the mines the values are mainly gold and copper the copper averaging about 11 per cent kingman miner 0 D M gaddis went out to the last chance and first chance mines yesterday and made an examination of the work being done he reports that the drift on the vein from the lower level is now in about twenty feet where the vein shows two feet of solid ore this ore gives good milling values in gold and carries a high percentage of lead the other owners in the property are hard at work driving the drift ahead and expect to open up a great ore body kingman miner C J hutchinson is building up a great group of mines around the expansion property near union pass having just located additional veins of ore from which milling values have been ob laened ta ined it is the intention of the company L to continue active development of the big vein of the group and at the same time be f gin the work of assembling a large milling plant at the mine considerable water has I 1 been developed at the property and it is s I 1 believed that more can be had in the vi cikity clifton copper era during the past few weeks ore shipments from the standard mines have been suspended pending the letting of a new contract to the smelters shelters sm elters the detroit company of morenci whose contract tract expired on the first of january has been handling the ore from the standard famines ines the past year or longer no announcement has yet been made by the management f the company as to which company the anew new contract will be let but the matter will no doubt be settled in a very short time in the meantime development work has been beil progressing and the ore bins have been plied ailed practically the same old forces have een retained |
