them badly tonight when passenger train No 6 on the Northwestern Pacific railroad running between San Can Francisco Francisc and Santa Rosa met in headon collision with a light engine a mile and a half south of this place The engines met with such force that the engine of the work train which t consisted of a caboose fiat flat cars shunted the passenger engina to toone toone toone one side and plowed part way through the baggage car causing the baggage car and the smoker to telescope partly Most Host all the men in the forward part of the smoker were killed and all in the rear were injured in some manner teller Relief trains were rushed from Irom both Doul ends of the line to the scene of ot the tho wreck Some of ot the dead were ware brought to San Rafael and some to Santa Rosa The
