Show Tiic St. Louis Fire Coroner's luquest. St. Louis, 10. The coroner's inquest in-quest in the Southern hotel fire case was organized about noon, but ao far the proceedings aro very meagre. The jury was sworn over the body of Kate Nolan, which has been kept in the cooling room at the morgue for that purpose. They then repaired to the grand jury room, where they will hold their se-sions. A somewhat lengthy discussion was held as to whether the investigation should be public or private, and the question was not definitely decided when the reporter left the court house, but the probabilities were that the aesaiona would bo open to tho press. The jury is composed of General John McNeill, George Bain, S. H. Lafiin, Charles W. Irwin, W. 0. Carr and Jacob Tamm, who are among our most reputable cilizens, and who express a determination determi-nation to go down to the bottom of the matter and bring out all the facts connected with the fire. |
