Show Runaways. Yesterday morning a runaway occurred oc-curred which, though unattended by aeripus results, was exciting and rer m ark able. The team, attached to a wagon irom the country, in which was a boy about 12 or 13 years old, started from opposite Walker Bro's store on Second South street, and daBhed eastward as far as Franklin avenue, down which they tore, pell mell, then wealward and up to place of bsginning. The young shaver held to the lines like a little man. He got off the scat at the start, crouched in the bottom of the wagon box and pulled on thp Hues with all hie strength, bringing the animals up after their run in fine style. In the afternoon, a saddle horse belonging to Mr. Short, the butcher, was anxious to create an excitement car the meat stalls, and succeeded admirably. He kicked, cavorted, plunged and jumped around for awbile and wound up by absconding . at a break-nock pace, noithward. |
