Editors Herald: k The Tooele county probate courl met at 11.30 this morning, the fof s lowing members answering to then . names: Probato judge, E. S. Foote; i selectmen, E, O. Chase and Isaac F, 3 Spangler. t The judge ordered tho business on the clerk's desk disposed of, when tho ; following were allowed: Several bills pertaining to the sickness and burial of one Cj.H Liuholm, whose death took plnce here recently; a bill to J Sheriff Lynch for hunting after one Bidkee, the man who shot Bolt a 6hort time since, near Martinsville, Soldier ciinon, amounting to $S4.00; one to Foote, for witness fees before I the grand jury of tho Third district court, December term, 1871; one to the insane awylum of Salt Lake city, ; lor $105; and some other bills, ' amounting in all to between $400 and : $300. 1 '' Court took a recess until 2 p. m., and on resuming its session the same ,Je members were present as in the! morning. Ul" After reading a petition of citizens citi-zens of Stockton for a road supervisor, and taking action thereon, the fol-a' fol-a' lowing motions were made: Moved, that George Atkin bo de- barred from acting as selectman of Tooele county for not qualifying ac-Qe ac-Qe cording to law, and refusing to act in his office. Motion seconded by m Chase. Koll called and motion de-or de-or clared carried. e; Moved, that William C. Kydalch be r- and is hereby appointed to the office ; se of selectman to fill the unexpired v term of George Atkin. Motion put e to a vote and declared carried. 1 y The following resolution was then adopted: liesolced That wh areas, the bonds 1 of County Treasurer Thomas Atkin, ' v jr., are inadequate to secure the j people of Tooele county, the eaid .1 treasurer's bonds shall be increased ; ! from S5.0U0 to $25,000, and said , ' ! bonds shall be accepted by said court, ' , 1 and that tho clerk is ordered to notitv Atkin ot the doings of said court in tho premises. To tho acceptance of this court, means the ousting of Atkins as trea-1 surer. Since McKeau's little note from U. S. Grant to st-p down and out, the mantle of the shorn Sampson scums to have fallen on the Woods' appointee to the office of probato judge of this county, and he tries to do justice to his calling. The late appointee to the office of selectman1 w is on the bonds of W. H. Lee ! for the year 1S7-4 for assessor and j collector of this county. Kydalch was told that Lee was in "trouble and would be prosecuted unless his bondsmen bonds-men withdrew; and on the ISth of March, 1875, Coolley and liydalch filed a notice with the county clerk that they withdrew from the bonds of W. H. Leo as assessor and collector for the year 1874. And now, I sup- j pose, this appointment is to reward : him for his fidelity to the misnamed j liberal party.
