Show I OUR BINGHAM LETTER. Improvements Successful Placer Mining Wooden Wedding News Items. Bingham, Feb. 15th, 1875. Editors Herald: Your correspondent t-tarted from Salt Lako city on Saturday to visit tho mines of Bingham carion. The camp seems to bo in a flourishing condition. The improvements improve-ments made are of tho lasting kind, us the parties making them were satisfied that they were in the rigid place and intended to hold on to what they had. The mined look better to-day, as a whole, than ever before. There are very few of the prospects that have really been developed devel-oped but have proved satisfactory to the owners. Placer mining is being pushed ' ahead with renewed vigor. Claims that have been dormant (with the exception of a little wurk just lo hold them from jumpers,) are now being worked and proving quite remunerative remunera-tive to the workers and owners. Some very fine nuggets were Bold at the difieren' places of business, yesterday, taken fi m the Bar diggings in this camp. Business is considered dull here, but to compare the amount ot busi- iicoa uuub nere w tnat uone in o.wi Lake city, with tho same amount invested, in-vested, I should call it remarkably good; but then, who ever heard a mercantile niau say business was good ? One of the pleasantest reunions imaginable im-aginable occurred here on Saturday. Several young couples came out from tho city to celebrate the wooden wedding wed-ding of ur esteemed friend, Wm. Read, Esq. Dancing of couree was the order of tho evening, and everything every-thing was joyous us a marriage bell. May they live to celebrate their golden one was the heartfelt desire of all present. The weather hero is lovely. Snow is disappearing fast, and tho hills are dotted with prospectors. Strings of oro teams are passing hourly to connect con-nect with the B. C. R. R. Everything, Every-thing, as far as your correspondent can judge, bespeaks a lively camp this summer. E. B. M. |
