The receipts today to-day from international revenues and customs aggregate over two million dollars, nearly $750,000 of which was in coin, the total being the largest for any one day siace the panic of 1S73. The largest receipt are miinly due to the anxiety to get gixxls affected by the pending tariff' bill out of bond. The house committee on appropriations, appropria-tions, to-day, completed the sundry civil appropriation bill. Tiie principal princi-pal items are $1,000,000 for the government's gov-ernment's share of expenses of the district of Columbia, $15,000 for the purchase of Mrs. Hansom's portrait of Gen. Thomas, and $2o,000 for Carpenter's Car-penter's painting of Signing the Emancipation Proclamation. |
