Turner, who lives in New Jersey, says she -is a humbug. She claims to be only eighteen years of age, when she is twenty-aeven. He says her testimony is all studied and that she is terribly untruthful. Colonel James M. Turner, her reputed re-puted father, says Bessie is no child of his. He simply allowed her to take his name. He says that Bessie ' is twenty-eight years old.
