A New Orleans dispatch dis-patch Bays that General Augur, who ia in command of the Texaa border, yesterday telegraphed to the com- , maudant at Fort Brown at Btowiu-villo, Btowiu-villo, regarding tbe rumored raids and murders by Mexicans. Last night , the following reply was received: There are many reports of a raid on the ranches in the vicinity of Corpus Christi, and of a threatened attack on- Corpus Christi. Some ranches have doubtless been robbed and burned, some people have been killed and some taken prisoners. The prisoners are reported to have eicaped. These marauders have been driven from the vicinity of Corpus Christi by tbe citizens in pursuit. pur-suit. I have sent all my mounted force to intercept tbe robbers. General Gen-eral Hatch has sent troops for tho same purpose. Many depredations have been committed along the rivor above this point of late, and several persons have been killed. I believe these robbers aie Mexicans, and that the most of them are from the other Bide of the river. There are probably ; several parties out lor stealing cattle and robbing ranches.
