Brown appears certain of the third place, but be iB exceedingly sleepy. At 7 o'clock in the evening tbe score stood: O'Leary Vaugban 426; but by 9 o'clock O'Leary had walked 446 and Vaughan 434 miles. At midnight, O'Leary and Vaughan were both resting. O'Leary bad ecored 457, Vaugban 441 and Brown 415. Vaughan looks fresher than O'Leary, but his feet are very sore and are swathed in cotton wool. He also suffers eomewbat in tbe knee, but less than O'Leary. Tbe victory seems now almost assured to O'Leary. |
