Show The Texas TaciUc. Washington, 1. The senate railroad rail-road committee held another meet-ling meet-ling on Tom Scott's railroad bill this morniug, but came to no final action on any of its features or proposed amendments. It is understood that no action will be taken until after the arrival of senator Raoisev. The committee had not yet taken up for consideration the proportion oi the Southern Pacific railroad com Dan v in , California,, to be allowed to extend iu . line east of the Colorado road and , run a race with Scott's road tor gov-( gov-( ernment assistance. There ara no indications, however, that this proposition pro-position will be considered favorably. Tne chances ot the Central Pacific people for success in this movement have been weakened by the receipt oi a telegram from V.H.Baxter,repudi- atiug tne dispatch ot Jan. 22, which purported to give the endorsement of tne California grangers' executive committee to said proposition. Scott's friends denounce tin's as a put-up job, contrived by their opponents to rnis- llead congress. |
