Show Festering Carcasses. - Salt Lake City, Afril 12, '79. Editors Herald: On the street immediately north of tho Warm Spring bathhouse there are lying the carcaEses of five or six horseB festering in the sun, breeding flies, and, with the assistance of the northern north-ern breezes, spreading thediphthoritic poison over your devoted city. Two latal cases of diphtheria occurred in one family near that point last winter in a locality heretofore considered especially free from diseases of a zymoiio character. Appreciating the interest you have heretofore taken in the public health, and hoping you may not fail it iu the future, I remain, re-main, youra, etc., Sanatabist. The same thing may be seen on the State road, just outside the city, and in other localities in close proximity prox-imity to habitations. It Bhould be Borne one's business to look after this matter. The bc6t way to stop the carting of dead animals to these places, would be to forcibly invite those having taken them there to reside re-side in the immediate vicinity until they bury the carcasses or remove them to some less public place. |
