Show Our Mineral Products. When it is remembered that in a period of only ten yea.-ti the sum ct over f 11,500,000 has boon realized ly the mineral products of this territory, it wili be seen that at the approaching approach-ing territorial fair our mineral interests should bo adequately cared for and material inducements in the shape of prizes opened for exhibits which may be made by citizens, so as to invite competitiori. The following plan is suggested to the committee having tue management manage-ment of the next territorial fair under Control, as one that will be productive of the desired resulta in securiug proper exhibit of our mineral wealth: I Metallic and non-metallic minerals should be shown in one division (A). Minerals of this region should be systematically arranged and (B) ores of ail metals exhibited and in classified order. II Another division (A) Bhould show our marbles, slates and building stonaa marbles in varieties, ornamental orna-mental and useful rough, hewn and polished; B, a division for lime stones, gypsum, cements, scngliola and artificial stones of local manufacture, manu-facture, with raw materials from which they are manufactured; C, a department should be devoted to the exbibitionofclays, kaolins, selex, glass, terra-sotta, firebricks, graphite and crucibles; D, another department depart-ment for lithographic stones, whet-Btones, whet-Btones, honeB, grindstones, polishers, raw aud finished materials. Ill An entire division would be required to exhibit our mineral resources re-sources in chemical rock a and pigments, pig-ments, A, salts, guanos and salt, Bal ammoniac, green vitriol, blue vitriol, alums and phosphates, marls and fertilizing materials; B, our coals, coke, fluxes, oil-rocks, petroleum, petro-leum, etc., should be shown and in every department crude raw materials and results should be shown in juxtaposition, juxta-position, eo as to be inatrnctive to visitors and become a eource of revenue reve-nue to the territory. |
