Apthorp discusses "Additional Aocoin paniments to Bach's and Handel's Scores," Axel Gustafson contributes a short interesting paper on Count anouvaion, ir. tioimeBis represeuieu by one of the tenderest and moat touching poems he has ever written, "The Silent Melody;". Arthur li. Sedgwick, apropos of Liveleye's "Primitive Property," writes nf "Primitive Communism," an article that deserves to bo widely read now; Kichard Grant White diacuursts onr.e more of "Americanisms" in Bpeech; and Genoral Francis J. Lippitt con tributes a carefully studied review of "Pope's Virginia Campaign, and Porter's part in it," The Contributors' Club is varied, bright, and pithy, as usual; and several new book 3 are reviewed.
