Show Lake Point Sharp Practice, Salt Lake, August 9, 1S7S. Editors Herald: Next lo hue ball, bathing at Lake Point ia the great BenBation. The Utah Western agents struck the right nail on the head when they started the bathing trains. The rales arc low enough to come within the reach of rich and poor, and thousands of the people are availing themselves of this opportunity. The ride itself, beiii: ia the evening, U cool and refreshing and Will worth the fifty cents, leaving bathing out of tbe question. Like all good things some will make a nuisance nuis-ance ot it. I re er to the pr.ctue of about 100 men jumping ofi the cars before thy n aou the station, so that ttify may i'cure the bathing houses brio re ih.j cruad arrives. Ttie other evening the scrambling aud racing were disgraceful among civilized wbite pecple. Il seemed to be the old style of "every one for himself," etc. This ia very digraceful to decdut people. Ol course it cannot be expected thai tbe company could erect 400 or 500 bath houses, but they might so arrange that al! would have something like an equal chance and none be allowed to ; leave the train till tbe proper time. Mr. Biter informs me that he will j have some more bath houses put up ; immediately. I While on this topic I would also i like to call attention to a little Bharp I practice indulged in at the expense of the majority of bathers. What I this time complain of is the praclice : of some Bharpers, or smart Alecks, who purchase half a dozen or more keys to bath houses, and as there is an insufficient number (or ail, these fellows sell them to young gentlemen who are "shining" with their young ladies, and who, rather than appear niggardly and ungenerous, arc willing to be imposed on and pay from 50 cents to 75 cents for a single key. Ol course the railroad company is not I accountable for this, but il the owners! of the bath bouses are not in collusion with these sharper?, tbe only way they can convince people is by etop-1 ping this usurious and highway robbery rob-bery practice.
