Show Questions About Schools. Salt Lake City, March 1st, 1S79. Editors Herald: For the information of myself and others interested 1 would like to ask the following questions: First Iu relation to the tax of 3 mills on the dollar, for school purposes, pur-poses, which was no doubt all collected, col-lected, throughout the territory, two or tliree months ago, and if I under stand aright was proportioned by the territorial superintendent to each county eomo time back. If I am rightly informed the trustees of different differ-ent districts canuct obtain any money or satisfactory information aa to when ihey can get it. Now, itseems to me, it there is anyone to bUrue for this, Ihe public should know who it is, and it would be satisfactory to trustees to know when they can depend on getting get-ting it, or whether they will have to wait oua or two years for it, as has been Ihe case with territorial appro-printio: appro-printio: s iu some instances to my knowledge. We were led to believe by the strictuesa of collecting the tax last year, that it would be on hand aa soon as tbe necessary transfers could be made. Secoud My next question is in relation to the workiug cf the echool law on voting for tbe support of schools. As I undersUni the law a two thirds majority vote is required to establish a free school by taxation of property. Now, what I want to irnnro i thU? A ftpr a free school has becu established aud in operation for a number of years, does it s'.iil require a two-thirds majority to sustain it, or will it devolve upon the opposition to have two-thirds to break it down?
