The terrible story is not credited here, thuugu the sender of tue dispatch is a leading citizen of Bismarck and generally trustworthy: The brother ot Senator Dorsey returned re-turned from Keogh by the Custer trail to-day. He reports that he reached Keogh about the 5th inst., and tbat Gen. Miles and an excursion party were surrounded by Bannacks in Yellowstone Park, and that twenty-seven twenty-seven of the escort were killed. A lot of Cheyenne Indians and two companies of mounted infantry were ! sent from Keogh to his relief. Mrs. I Miles, a daughter of Geo. Sanbourne, i of St. Paul, and other ladies are in Miles' party. |
