Adams, alias "Ching l"oo," camchcre from Salt Lake City with a party of gentlemen gentle-men en route to Dry Canon. It appears ap-pears that Adams had called Dr. Dodds a liar in a Utter dated May the tith. When Adams arrived in town, and was standing by his buggy, Dodds "went tor him." Adams dodged the blow aud run. The doctor chased him a short distance, then returned and stood at the head of Adams' horses. Mr. A soon returned with his pistol cocked in his hand, and invited in-vited Dodds to step out of the range ol the horses. Dodds informed hhn that he hud no pistol, and desired to tight it on the pugilistic principle. Adams did nut accept the proposition, proposi-tion, but asked a man standing near to lead the horses out of the way. Just then a friend of the doctor's handed him hU pistol, when Adams departed, followed by a bullet from Dudd's pistol. Adams made a circuit cir-cuit and took refuge in Mr. Frank's bam. One of tho bystanders caught hold ot the doctor, and Adams came out ot the barn and advanced towards Dodds, when the latter sent another bullet whizzing through the air, but without etlect, except to cause Adams to again retreat to tho barn tor safety. The Tooeleitos are desirous desir-ous of backing "Ching Foo" for a footrace against anyone of his size in the country. T, C. CHICAGO TRADE. T. W. BAXTER & CO. 'MILL-FURNISHERS, CHICAGO, ILL.
