Another death by poion has occurred oc-curred io our cuy Kirly yesterday i aiOToingwe received the report of the death ot'BeDjamin.C Lewis, sometime ago, for a bhort period, apriniex in : the Herald office and lately jobber in I the "Journal" office. From the inf jt-: jt-: mi lion gathered we learn that Mr. Lewis has for some time been in the i habit of taking small doses of arsenic. ! UpoD Thursday evening he swallowed from a vial, without measurement, a quantity of the arsenic, retired to bis room, and yesterday morning was found, lying upon his iace in his bed, a corpse. Physicians were called but of course were of no avaiL A coroner's inquest was called yesterday afternoon, and after due investigation the following follow-ing verdict w& rendered: We, the jury, having been duly em-panncied em-panncied and sworn to enquire into the ca;ise of the death ofBeojamin C. Lewis, upon our oaths do say, from the testimony before us, that the deceased de-ceased was tound dead at his lodgings, at about eight a,m. At a meeting of the Typographical Union of this city, held at 12:30 p.m. yesterday, these resolutions were adopted adopt-ed : Whereas, this morning we have received re-ceived a shock in learning of the very sudden death of Benjamin C- Lewis, a long time and reppee'ed member of Deseret Typographical Union No. 115; Resolved, That, considering the unexpected un-expected departure, and the painful circumstances connected therewith, of our fellow craftsman and co-worker, we express our heartfelt regret at the loss of one whose face had become so familur, and whose bearing among us had won the friendship of us all. Resolved, That, while we experience sorrow in recording the decease of this young and esteemed typo, we also sympathize and condole with his family and friends in their bereavement Resolved, That wo cherish bis virtues, vir-tues, leaving bis errors to be oorreoted in tho Author's proof. Resolved, That we furnish his family with a copy of these resolutions; also that the newspapers published in the city be requested to publish them. M. W. Hammond, Prest John Isaac, Sec'y.
