Much surprise is expressed at the completeness com-pleteness of the Kepublican triumph. Dundas, Liberal, is elected to Parlia ment from Richmond. Cardinal Cullen has returned to Dublin Dub-lin from his visit to Rome. The Irish government has prohibited the importation of horses from the United Uni-ted iStates. The Mexican Presidential Election. City of Mexico, Xov. 1, via Havana. The election for president of Meiico resulted in tha almost unanimous choice of Lerdo de Tjeda. The votes against him were few and scattering. The programme pro-gramme which the president proposes ior himself i3 made public, and may be condensed into this phrase, "Little politics pol-itics and much administration." Por-fiero Por-fiero Diaz has sent in his own submission submis-sion to the government and the surrender surren-der of his command.
