Show Railroad Between 1'iociie and Bcllionville. The Ely Record, of the 24th, advocates the building of a narrow guagc railroad from l'iochc to Bullionville, and says the large yield of the mines in Ely district jutities the construction of such a road for tho purpose of conveying the ore from the mines to the mills, if for no other purpose. pur-pose. There will he no (rouble in building the road, as the grade will be regular and in no place so steep as to necessitate necessi-tate running around mountains to escape- them. Seventy-live thousand dollars will build and equip the road, and the amount saved to the mining companies now cn;,v:ed in shipping (ire, in tho item of IVciirht, will more than pay that amount iu eighteen months. The present shipments oi ore justify the construction of the road. Recent developments made in the vicinity of the old Panaca mine and also east of the Bowery and Alp? mines, prove that the district is jut beginning to bc prospected and that the expectations of the. ninst sanguine of our prospeetoio will bo realized, from the pro tits to ari.-e from the mining min-ing interests of the district. |
