Show HANDSOME OBITCART. Every man don't live to read his own obituary but our coiemporary ot the Enterprise had that pleasure. He will no doubt enjoy tbe folio wing eulogy eulo-gy with more than ordinary zest, as he ls rusticating over at Lake Tahoe, re-i re-i veiling among the Muses under tali pines. The San Francisco Mta of Saturday Sat-urday morning contained the lollow-ing lollow-ing : it is said a private dispatch was received re-ceived in this city, last night, announcing an-nouncing the sudden death, at Salt Lake, of Joseph T. Goodman, editor and proprietor of the lerritorial Enterprise, En-terprise, Virginia City, la the absence ab-sence of press dispatches or private dispatches to this oihce, there U room for hope that the report is incorrect. Mr. Goodman had recently returned from a eecond visit to Europe, and had gone to Salt Lake, from Virginia City, on a pleasure trip with his personal friends, Mr. Edwiu Adams and Mr. I John McCullough. If the report Drove true, the profession of journal ism on this coast ttill have lost one oi ita most brilliant lights, and his death wiil be mourned by a large circle of warm and devoted friends. It was the death of Henry M. Goodman Good-man (of the firm of Daley k Goodman) who was buried in Virginia City on Sunday, and who died at Salt Lake City last Tuesday, which gave rise to the premature obituary of our friend of the Enterprise, who is as handsome hand-some and sprightly as ever, and bids fair to live for many years yet.
