Show aOSSEL'S GHOST A.VD M.THIERS. LTere is a story that will delight the : lovers of tho supernatural and others: On the evening oi the Rossel execution execu-tion M. Thiers was alone in his study after dinner. Suddenly a man in uniform uni-form stood before him. "Who are you?" asked M. Thiers. The answer was, "I am the spirit of Kossel." M-Thiers M-Thiers was in a race, and said, "You are an impostor!" The vision laushed. "No, no, M. le President, imposition was not my role, or I ruiht still have been in the flesh. If I cculd have been a sham Kepubiiean aud a Uour-bon Uour-bon at heart, I might have had a day of authority. Kb, AL le President?" M. Thiers unlocked a cabinet and took out a revolver. "Go, or I shoot you." The Ecornful laugh was repeated. "Fire away, M. le President, and you will be satisfied that I am a spirit the spirit of llossel." M.Thiers discharged dis-charged the seven cliambers in rapid succession. The bullets passed through his visitor, and stru.-k the opposite wall. For the third time there was a mocking lauih. Thiers dropped the revolver, and sank into bis chair. "Are you satisfied, M. le President, or would you like to touch me?" Jl. Thiers exclaimed, in haste, "No, no; I am peri'ectly satisfied. What on earth do you want?" "Two minutes' talk to you, that is all. Don't be afraid; wc ghosts arc a harmless nice. Wc do not use dageers, but only speak them.
