A lire broke out ai j 1 o'clock this morning, iu a small house in the west part of the city, occupied oc-cupied by Jacob liibskate, who lived up stairs and kept a market belcv. iBibskate was aroused by the rjioke, and snatching a babe from its bed called to his wife to follow liim. He rushed down the stairs, which were already in flames, and reached the ground, but he and the child were fatally burned. His wife was unable to escape and her body was found burned to a cinder. |
