The early part of the day was very sultry, and the sun had been shining bur a few minutes bt f.re the t phoon-tornado-hurmcane shower of icebergs came on, which not only as tonisbt-d the natives here in its striking and eccentric gyrations, but broke more glass and unroofed a greater number of houses, than the whole show wat-worth. wat-worth. The storm came from the southeast, and passed over the towns i of Huron, W ebster and Portage, just touching Hancock in its course. Mr. Langdon's residence in this village was blown over, and its interior was sadly demoralized thereby, and the wonder is that the inma'es were not injured. Several other buildings in the way of the storm were shaken from their very foundation, but escaped from any serious se-rious mishap. The breakage of window-glass from the effects of the tornado tor-nado was enormous, and from the most reliable data we can obtain on this head, there were not less than 6,000 lights destroyed. There is a story fiom Hurontown, for the truth of" whih we will not vouch, but will merely give it to that some idea may be formed of the size of the icebergs that tell during that memorable storm. A spherical-shaped iceberg dropped on one of the streets of that village, near a down grade, which gave it sufficient momentum to tear up one or two trees which it encountered, and it was only stayed in its course by lodging between the walls of a ravine, whero the road winds its way to the village.
