Show The Living Wonders. We attended at-tended the levee of Mons. Joseph and Miss Swan yesterday, and gazed upon the intellectual countenance of the lit!e gentleman, Major Green. The lovely Circassian was not present, being somewhat some-what indisposed, but was to shed the beams of her beauty on visitors last night. We were afraid of the feminine femi-nine Anna. For a Swan there is a little too much of her to meet the taste of any man whose ideas of female magnitude never run much aboe seven feet. Anna and Joseph do very well together, but apart they would be out of their element. We pity the man of ordinary stature who would venture to approach the gentle giantess with a ''chaste salute" unless he had a more than ordinarily-sized step-ladder along. She takes looking up to considerably. Tbe four persons now on exhibition in the Social riall are worth seeing, combining com-bining the opposites of physical diniin-utivene3.s diniin-utivene3.s and vast size, and the natural natu-ral wondsr Zobeide. They exhibit today to-day and to-morrow. |
