Show I'. P. Works at Evanston. We met Ool. John Sharp yesterday who is in town procuring moro laborers for the erection of the Union Pacific railroad works at Evanston, which he has the contract for. He took men enough at first to erect a round house, which, it was supposed, would be the only building build-ing required this winter; but subsequently subse-quently a blacksmith shop was decided on, and he sends out thirty more men this morning to expedite the work. These buildings will be put up this fall, if the weaiher permits, and next spring a machine shop will be added. The buildings are not to be of a temporary tem-porary character, but will be strongly built; and they arc located at Evanston because of its being so close to the coal beds there. |
