Show UTAH ORES TO THE WKST. The San xianeiseo Btdleliit of the 2'jth ult. complains that the freight tarif's on the C. P. E. R. niilitaie against the shipment of ores to S m Francisco from interior mining districts, dis-tricts, and hopes for a reduction in them. Yet it says the shipment of ores for crushing, sampling and sale increases steadily. From Salt Lake, ores go to Liverpool by way of New York, when, it holds, they could equally as well go from San Francisco, and should go much cheaper by the western route. Colorado is contributing contribu-ting to the business of the Bay City by shipping ores to it, and some of them are of great value, running from $300 to as high as 28,075. Of ores from this region the Bulletin says : Salt Lake ores sampled during the past two weeks averaged about 2U0 per ton one lot from the Bullion mine runuing as hieh as $275 per ton. "here are now 156 tons of oio at the Uowland establishment, all sampled and ready for sale and shipment by ;he various owners, 'ihe freight to Liverpool has been reduced to $5 per Lon, and in some instances, when taken as bal.asc, it is carried at a lower rate. |
