Show Sandwich Island Si-gar. Yesterday Yes-terday we examined a sample of sugar made on the plantation of Laie, island of Oahu,Hawaiian group, known as the Mormon plantation. It was made by natives employed by George Nebeker, Esq., of this city, and under the direction direc-tion of missionaries from this Territory. The sugar is an excellent quality of the raw article, is sold at the Huh Ward Co-operative store in sacks very-cheap, very-cheap, and being, so to speak, a product pro-duct of home skill and industry, has a still stronger claim upon public patronage patron-age here. Mr. Xebeker i receiving regular supplies monthly, and there is no doubt his sugar will meet a ready and extensive sale. The advertisement concerning it will be found iu this morning's Herald. |
