Show V. ho Me I. The Duke of Aosta, who is now brought forward with such flattering prospects for the vacant throne of' Spain, is tho second son of Victor Emanuel, better known i.s Prince Am-adeus. Am-adeus. He will be twenty-six years old next May, and is in all respects reported re-ported to be of better metal to govern than his older brother, Prince Hum-burg, Hum-burg, who will some day succeed a-i . King of Italy. At the age of fourteen Amadous won a complimentary notice for services against the Austrians, and still later he served with distinction against the Neapolitans and Papal troops. It is not likely that either the Italian or Spanish government will accept ac-cept his candidature until a convention is signed renouncing forever his right to the succession in Italy. But should he be elected King of Spain, it is quite certain that there will be a treaty between the two monarchies binding Spain to defend the recent conquests made by Italy, which is to say Spain and Italy will be one in sustaining Italian Ital-ian unity under the Savoyard princes. - Sac.
