Show Sevier and Star Minwg Districts. Dis-tricts. A gentleman just iu from a twenty-five days' trip ia thj Sevier and Star mining districts, gives the following follow-ing informat'on: The Star district is a .little south of west of Beaver, and almo5t due west of Minersville, fifteen miles. Its prospects pros-pects are good, and many ledge3 in the district show very fine ore on the surface. But little development has yet been made, from the fact that the miners "there have been engaged in working up their assessments to preserve their locations. The ores are argentiferous ?alena and chloride ore. The country shows a general lime formation. The leads seem to be abundant and close together; and there are a number of true quartz lodes that can be traced in some instances three quarters of a mile in length. Sevier district is on the east side of the Sevier range. The mines are located loca-ted on Pine Gulch, near Bullion City, the county seat for Piute. There are many large ledges there of silver bearing bear-ing rock, some of them prospecting from fifteen to twenty dollars in gold. The lodes are large and well-defined, containing a great deal of ore, but it is generally low-grade, carrying more or less base metal with it, such as galena, nickel, cobalt, &c. There are about thirty men working in the Sevier district; and from twenty to thirty men in the Star district. |
